Bio
Recruited from Hawthorn Thirds, Dick Kennedy began his senior career at Melbourne where he managed just over a dozen games across two seasons as he struggled to cement a regular spot in the side. Seeking greater opportunities, he crossed to Fitzroy in 1947 and immediately found his footing, becoming a consistent contributor for the Gorillas during the late 1940s. Operating primarily as a half-forward, Kennedy was a handy goal-kicker who could hit the scoreboard when drifting forward, notably booting 47 goals during his five-year stint at Brunswick Street. He was a key fixture in the club's 1947 finals campaign and remained a reliable servant for Fitzroy until hanging up his boots at the end of the 1951 season.
