Bio
Originally from the Bendigo Pioneers, Djaran Whyman was a livewire small forward who had to wait five years between his first AFL opportunity and his senior debut. He was initially rookie-listed by Hawthorn in 2002 but was delisted without playing a game, forcing him to rebuild his career in the VFL with North Ballarat. His consistent goal-kicking form at state level eventually earned him a second lifeline when North Melbourne selected him in the 2006 Rookie Draft. Elevated to the senior list in 2007, Whyman made a promising debut against Melbourne at the Telstra Dome, where he booted two goals and looked dangerous at ground level. Despite his pace and crumbing ability, he added only two more appearances to his tally before being delisted at the end of the season, after which he continued his football journey with North Adelaide in the SANFL and the Fitzroy Stars.
