Bio
Recruited to Melbourne as part of the high-profile trade package that secured Jesse Hogan in 2012, Dom Barry was an electric outside runner whose elite speed excited Demons fans during a brief debut season in 2014. However, the Alice Springs product made the surprising decision to walk away from the AFL at just 20 years old, returning to the APY Lands to reconnect with his family and culture while working as a school bus driver. After three years out of the system, Barry reignited his football dream through a standout SANFL campaign with Glenelg, prompting Port Adelaide to offer him a lifeline with pick 61 in the 2017 National Draft. He added another five games to his tally in 2018, showcasing his signature line-breaking run on the wing, but struggled to cement a regular spot in the senior side and was delisted at the end of the season.
