Dom Sheed

Recruited from Kalgoorlie via Subiaco with pick 11 in the 2013 National Draft, Dom Sheed arrived at West Coast as a highly touted junior who had won the Larke Medal. A prolific left-footed midfielder, Sheed established himself as a reliable accumulator who could balance inside contested work with outside run. While he never possessed elite speed, his ability to read the play and find space in traffic allowed him to become a vital component of the Eagles' engine room, often stepping up to shoulder a heavier load when star teammates like Luke Shuey or Elliot Yeo were sidelined by injury.

Sheed's career is irrevocably defined by a single kick during the 2018 Grand Final against Collingwood. Having marked the ball in the forward pocket with less than two minutes remaining, he slotted the match-winning goal from a tight angle to secure the premiership, earning himself a permanent place in club folklore. He continued to be a key contributor following the flag, producing career-best disposal numbers in 2021, though his output in later seasons was frequently hampered by injuries. As the Eagles entered a significant rebuilding phase, Sheed transitioned into a senior veteran role, providing experience and guidance to the club's developing midfield group.
