Bio
Drafted by Port Adelaide with pick 50 in the 2000 National Draft from East Fremantle, Domenic Cassisi developed into one of the league's most disciplined defensive midfielders. Initially breaking into the side as a tagger capable of nullifying elite opponents, he evolved into a hard-nosed ball winner renowned for his tackling intensity and courage in the contest. His selfless approach provided the perfect foil for the Power's more attacking on-ballers, making him a vital component of the club's historic 2004 premiership team.
Cassisi's standing at Alberton was solidified when he was appointed captain ahead of the 2009 season, succeeding Warren Tredrea. He led the club during a particularly challenging era on and off the field, earning immense respect for his durability and willingness to shoulder the burden for a young list. After handing the leadership reins to Travis Boak, he continued to serve as a veteran mentor before retiring in 2014, leaving the game as a celebrated one-club player defined by his grit and unwavering commitment to the team cause.
