Stats
Bio
Recruited from Morwell in the Latrobe Valley, Don Hall was a versatile utility who squeezed a variety of roles into his brief tenure at Princes Park. Standing 183cm, he possessed a potent vertical leap that allowed him to pinch-hit in the ruck, though he was equally capable of playing as a key forward or defender. He was renowned for his prodigious drop kick—reputedly able to send the ball from full-back to the centre circle—and held the personal distinction of once kicking three goals on St Kilda champion Verdun Howell. However, Hall’s VFL career was ultimately curtailed by his off-field commitments as a builder; placing his trade ahead of football, he left Carlton after the 1960 season to play for Oakleigh in the VFA and later captain-coached Lockhart in the Riverina.
