Honours

Born in Illinois, United States, Don Pyke moved to Australia as a child and was recruited to West Coast from Claremont with pick 6 in the 1988 National Draft. A disciplined and intelligent midfielder, he became an integral component of the Eagles' dominant engine room throughout the early 1990s. While often tasked with defensive roles to nullify opposition playmakers, Pyke possessed elite two-way running ability and ball-winning skills that made him a damaging player in his own right rather than just a pure tagger.

Pyke was a vital member of the West Coast sides that secured the 1992 and 1994 premierships, offering a hard-edged complement to the team's flair players. His consistency and leadership were recognised in 1993 when he won the Club Champion award, edging out high-profile teammates during the club's golden era. A chronic shoulder injury forced him to retire prematurely in 1996, but he left an indelible mark as a dual premiership player before embarking on a successful long-term career in coaching and administration.
