Bio
Arriving at the Western Oval with the weight of a legendary surname, Don Whitten was the younger brother of Footscray icon Ted Whitten. Recruited from Braybrook, he made his senior debut in 1956, joining his sibling in the lineup just two years after the club's maiden premiership. While he did not replicate the commanding presence of "Mr Football," Don was a serviceable player who managed 24 appearances over three seasons at the top level. His brief VFL career concluded at the end of the 1958 season, cementing his place as a minor but notable figure within the club's most celebrated family dynasty.
