Stats
Bio
A local product recruited from the Richmond area, Don Williams was a standout junior who captained the Tigers' Under-19s to a premiership in 1958, winning the team's best and fairest award in the same year. Standing at 184cm, he was a tall defender for the era who graduated to the senior list in 1959. Despite his junior promise and selection for the VFL Reserves representative side in 1960, Williams found it difficult to cement a permanent spot in the senior backline, making sporadic appearances across two seasons. He departed Punt Road in 1961 to join Mordialloc in the VFA, where he forged a significant post-VFL career as a player, coach, and long-serving administrator.
