Bio
Recruited from local side North Geelong, Doug Jerram was a lightweight forward and rover whose VFL career was significantly curtailed by the Second World War. Standing just 170cm, he debuted as a teenager in 1941, showing early potential before his development was halted by military service and Geelong's temporary withdrawal from the competition due to wartime travel restrictions. He returned to Corio Oval when the club rejoined the league in 1944, contributing useful goals during a difficult transition period for the side. However, Jerram struggled to cement a permanent spot in the senior lineup during the post-war years, eventually departing the club in 1947 just as the Cats began assembling the list that would dominate the early 1950s.
