Bio
Recruited from Bulleen-Templestowe, Duane Rowe was a defensive utility who experienced a stop-start career during the twilight years of the Fitzroy Football Club. He first broke into the senior side in 1986, managing five games during the Lions' famous charge to the preliminary final, but fell out of favour and did not feature at senior level for the subsequent two seasons. Rowe persevered to earn a recall in 1989, establishing himself as a depth player in the back half where he used his 183cm frame to play tight checking roles on opposition forwards. Despite his persistence in returning to the top flight, he struggled to cement a permanent spot in the best 22 and spent much of his time on the fringe of selection before departing the league at the end of 1992.
