Stats
Bio
A potent forward who briefly lit up the VFL in the mid-1930s, Dudley Cassidy arrived at North Melbourne after being denied opportunities at Collingwood. Originally listed by the Magpies but unable to break into their formidable lineup, he crossed to Arden Street in 1935 and immediately established himself as a dangerous scoring threat. Despite his light frame—standing 177cm and weighing just 68kg—Cassidy was a clinical finisher, enjoying a breakout season in 1936 where he booted 48 goals in 15 games to top the Shinboners' goalkicking table. His time at the elite level was ultimately short-lived, with his VFL career concluding abruptly after the 1937 season, leaving behind an impressive strike rate of more than two goals per game.
