Bio
Recruited from the Bendigo Pioneers with pick 3 in the 2009 National Draft, Dustin Martin arrived at Richmond with high expectations that he immediately met. He quickly established himself as a unique physical presence in the midfield, renowned for his signature 'fend-off' and explosive power from stoppages. While he began as a high-production ball-winner, Martin evolved into a damaging mid-forward hybrid, utilizing his one-on-one strength to outbody defenders in the goalsquare and impact the scoreboard as heavily as he did the clearance count.
Martin's career trajectory shifted drastically in 2017. After turning down a significant offer from North Melbourne to remain at Punt Road, he produced one of the most dominant individual seasons in league history, sweeping the Brownlow Medal, Premiership, and Norm Smith Medal. This sparked a dynasty for the Tigers, with Martin cementing his status as the ultimate big-game player. He became the first footballer to win three Norm Smith Medals, serving as the central figure in Richmond's 2017, 2019, and 2020 flags.
