Bio
Recruited from the Gippsland Power with pick 55 in the 2000 National Draft, Dylan McLaren was an athletic left-footed ruckman who offered versatility as a tall forward option. His tenure at the Brisbane Lions coincided with the club's historic premiership dynasty, though he remained on the periphery of grand final selection, persistently stuck behind the formidable ruck trio of Clark Keating, Jamie Charman, and Beau McDonald. Seeking greater continuity and the chance to secure a primary ruck role, McLaren was traded to Carlton ahead of the 2006 season. His transition to the Blues proved difficult, however, as persistent injuries and fluctuating form restricted his impact during a struggling era for the club, resulting in just 13 appearances in navy blue before his delisting at the end of 2007.
