Bio
Selected by North Melbourne with pick 55 in the 2014 National Draft, Ed Vickers-Willis arrived at Arden Street as a disciplined and versatile defender capable of matching up on opponents of varying sizes. Despite his promise as a reliable backman, his time at the elite level was defined almost entirely by misfortune, with a string of serious injuries severely limiting his continuity. After waiting until 2017 to make his debut due to shoulder issues, he appeared to be cementing a spot in the Kangaroos' best 22 early in 2018 before a posterior cruciate ligament injury cut his campaign short. Cruelly, his return in Round 1 the following season resulted in a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament during the opening game, forcing him to miss another year of football. Unable to regain his place in the side upon recovery, he was delisted at the conclusion of the 2020 season, leaving the game with 21 appearances and a career ultimately curtailed by the physical toll on his body.
