Bio
A tall centre-half forward originally from Shepparton, Eddie Ford’s VFL career was a brief wartime cameo for the Tigers while he worked for the Metropolitan Fire Brigade. He broke into the senior side in early 1942, managing just four appearances across two seasons before returning to the country to pursue farming. His football journey ended in tragedy shortly after leaving Punt Road; while serving as captain-coach for Katandra in 1946, he sustained fatal head injuries in an on-field collision, passing away that evening at just 28 years of age.
