Bio
Arriving at Brunswick Street from the Hawthorn reserves, Horace "Eddie" Schenk was a small defender who found opportunities limited during his brief stint at Fitzroy. Standing just 174cm, he was a defensive-minded player who failed to trouble the scorers across his 16 senior appearances, consistent with the duties of a back pocket or flanker in that era. He broke into the side in 1928 and added depth to the Maroons' backline through to the end of the 1929 season, but ultimately struggled to cement a regular place in the senior lineup. After his football career concluded, Schenk's legacy extended beyond the boundary line as he went on to serve in the Royal Australian Air Force during the Second World War.
