Bio
Ed Allan arrived at Collingwood as a highly touted West Australian draft bolter, famously missing out on father-son eligibility at Hawthorn by just two gamesโhis father, Ben Allan, having played 98 matches for the Hawks before becoming Fremantleโs inaugural captain. Selected with pick 19 in the 2022 National Draft, Allan is a prototypical modern midfielder, standing 194cm with elite speed and the versatility to play on a wing or on the inside. After a patient VFL apprenticeship interrupted by back injuries, he made a poetic debut against his fatherโs former side, the Dockers, in 2024 before earning a Rising Star nomination during a breakout 2025 campaign. Now established in the senior rotation, Allan uses his tall frame and running power to complement the Magpies' engine room as he looks to cement his place in the best 22.
