Bio
Recruited from Swan Districts with pick 14 in the 2022 National Draft, Elijah Hewett joined West Coast during a critical rebuilding phase, touted for his explosive power and stoppage craft. After a promising debut season in 2023 that was briefly interrupted by a high-profile concussion incident involving Jordan De Goey, Hewett faced a significant setback when severe sesamoiditis in his feet forced him to miss the entire 2024 season. He successfully returned to the senior lineup the following year, establishing himself as a dynamic midfielder-forward capable of breaking lines with speed and impacting the scoreboard. Entering the 2026 season, Hewett remains a vital piece of the Eagles' young core as he looks to transition from an impact player into a full-time midfielder.
