Bio
Recruited from SANFL powerhouse Central District, Elijah Ware was selected by Port Adelaide with the seventh pick in the 2005 Pre-Season Draft following a premiership campaign with the Bulldogs. A lightly built outside runner known for his silky skills and finishing ability, his transition to the AFL was immediately stalled by a season-ending ACL injury suffered early in 2005. He eventually earned his senior debut in Round 12, 2006, against West Coast, where he booted a goal and showcased flashes of his potential, but he struggled to consistently find the football or cope with the physical demands of the top level. Ware played just two games for the Power before being delisted at the end of the 2006 season, subsequently returning to the SANFL where he became a key figure in Central District's continued dominance.
