Bio
Born Roderick Morrison Chisholm, "Eric" was a South Yarra recruit whose football ambitions were significantly delayed by the Great War. Having enlisted in 1914 to serve with the 46th Battalion, he finally made his VFL debut at the mature age of 27 when football resumed in earnest. Chisholm joined a Melbourne squad that was struggling deeply upon its return to the league, eventually breaking into the senior side late in the 1919 season. He featured in five of the club's final seven matches, kicking two goals, but was unable to help the team avoid a winless campaign. His brief stint at the top level ended with that season, standing as one of many soldiers who earned a fleeting VFL opportunity in the immediate post-war era.
