Bio
Hailing from Creswick, Eric Clarke was a gifted Indigenous forward who built a formidable reputation in the Ballarat Football League before testing his skills at the highest level. A local prodigy, he featured in a North Ballarat premiership side at just 16 years of age and added two more flags in 1978 and 1979, prompting St Kilda to recruit him for the 1980 season. Standing 183cm, he operated as a half-forward with a keen eye for the goals, booting six majors across his six senior appearances for the Saints. While his VFL career was ultimately brief, Clarke returned to country football where he further cemented his standing as a Ballarat legend with spells at Redan and his original club North Ballarat.
