Bio
Arriving at the Melbourne Football Club via the academic pathway of Training College, Eric Dimsey made a fleeting appearance in the VFL during the 1913 season. He was granted a brief trial in the senior lineup, donning the Redlegs jumper for just two matches as he attempted to bridge the gap between amateur and league football. Unable to trouble the scorers or cement a regular position in the side, Dimsey found the step up to the elite level demanding and failed to impact the contest significantly enough to earn a recall. His tenure at the top level was ultimately short-lived, departing the VFL scene immediately following that solitary season to remain a minor footnote in Melbourne's history just prior to the onset of the Great War era.
