Bio
Recruited from the local suburb of Malvern, Eric Gordon was a wartime addition to the St Kilda list who made a brief appearance during the 1918 VFL season. Standing 175cm, he was brought into the senior side early in the year to help bolster a squad contending with the player shortages common to the Great War era. Gordon played just two consecutive matches in May—a loss to Collingwood and a win over Essendon—serving as a utility player before losing his place in the selected twenty-two. While the Saints went on to make a rare finals appearance that season, Gordon did not feature again, ending his VFL career as a short-term contributor who helped the club field a team during a difficult period in league history.
