Bio
Hailing from Coleraine in western Victoria, Eric Moore was a powerfully built utility who etched his name into Tigerland folklore during the club’s golden era under Tom Hafey. While he initially oscillated between the reserves and the seniors, Moore’s career is best remembered for a blistering 1969 finals campaign where he was deployed at full-forward, booting ten goals across the semi and preliminary finals before helping secure the premiership against Carlton. A physical player known for his strong hands and ability to read the play, he proved his versatility by topping Richmond’s goalkicking in 1970 with 39 majors. Moore eventually crossed to South Melbourne in a mid-season clearance during 1972, finishing his VFL career at the Lakeside Oval before later establishing himself as a premiership-winning coach in the VFA.
