Bio
Recruited from Swan Districts in the WAFL, Eric Sarich joined South Melbourne in 1965 after featuring in a celebrated hat-trick of premierships for the Perth-based club. A tenacious rover with a nose for goal, his ability to secure a permanent primary midfield role was perpetually hampered by the presence of legendary captain Bob Skilton, often forcing Sarich to operate as a forward pocket or change rover. Although he never quite replicated his dominant WAFL form at the Lakeside Oval, he served as a reliable squad member across seven seasons, providing valuable depth and experience during a lean era for the Swans before departing in 1971.
