Bio
Recruited from East Perth in the WAFL, Eric Sweet was a lightweight utility who briefly represented South Melbourne during the Second World War. Joining the club during a period when VFL lists were frequently bolstered by interstate servicemen stationed in Victoria, he played alongside his brother Jack in the red and white. Standing 179cm but with a slender 67kg frame, Sweet relied on mobility rather than physical presence, managing to boot two goals during his limited opportunities at senior level. His VFL career was sporadic, restricted to just four games across the 1941 and 1943 seasons before his tenure at the Lakeside Oval came to a close.
