Bio
Recruited from the Barwon Football Club, Ern Batty was a Beeac-born prospect who earned his opportunity at VFL level during the early 1900s. Standing 171cm, he was a smaller utility who broke into the Geelong side during a lean 1902 campaign where the club finished second-last on the ladder. Batty managed to string together nine senior appearances and booted a solitary goal, but he could not establish a long-term place in the squad. He departed the elite level after just one season, remaining one of the many local district footballers who stepped up for a brief stint in the Pivotonians' guernsey before returning to obscurity.
