Bio
Born in Port Adelaide, South Australia, Ern James was a forward who featured briefly for Geelong during the Edwardian era. He broke into the senior lineup midway through the 1905 season, initially struggling to impact the scoreboard across his first handful of appearances. James found his range the following year, serving as a capable goal-kicker with four majors in just three games during his second campaign, but he was unable to parlay that form into a permanent position. He departed the VFL scene after just seven senior games, remaining a minor figure in the Pivot City's history who eventually settled in the Geelong area for the remainder of his life.
