Bio
Recruited from Montague and Collingwood Juniors, Ernie Adams was a diminutive utility who played a cameo role for Melbourne at the turn of the 20th century. Standing just 173cm, he broke into the senior lineup midway through the 1900 season, playing six matches as the club built momentum toward its first VFL premiership. While he showed promise in front of goal, Adams ultimately missed selection for the historic Grand Final upset over Fitzroy, watching from the sidelines as his teammates claimed the flag. He returned for five more appearances in 1901 but struggled to cement a permanent spot in the Redlegs' starting 18, concluding his brief VFL career with 11 games and six goals.
