Bio
Ernie Collihole was a diminutive and dashing utility who arrived at South Melbourne in the mid-20th century. Standing just 175cm, he broke into the senior side in Round 10, 1950, and immediately impressed observers with his speed and energy, retaining his place for the final eight games of the season. Primarily deployed as a running defender or wingman, Collihole relied on his pace to impact contests but never managed to hit the scoreboard during his two seasons at the Lake Oval. He added another nine games in the first half of 1951 before his VFL career concluded. He later returned to country football, serving as the senior coach for Lalbert in the Mallee league in 1960.
