Teams

Recruited from neighbouring VFA club Brunswick, Ernie Everett was a sturdy footballer brought in to bolster Fitzroy’s ranks for the 1911 season. Standing 177cm and weighing 80kg, he possessed a robust frame well-suited to the physical attrition of League football and was immediately handed his debut in the opening round clash against Melbourne at the MCG. He held his spot for the first three weeks of the campaign, featuring as part of a new wave of talent trying to help the Maroons re-establish themselves as a finals contender. Despite this promising start, Everett’s time at the top level proved fleeting; he lost his place in the senior side after Round 3 and did not manage to break back into the team, ending his VFL career with just those three appearances to his name.
