Bio
Selected by Adelaide with pick 14 in the 2003 National Draft, Fergus Watts was a highly touted key forward prospect whose career was ultimately derailed by chronic injuries. The son of former Saint Stephen Watts, he began his career in South Australia after St Kilda initially opted against drafting him under the father-son rule. A promising lead-up target who showed glimpses of potential in five games for the Crows, he requested a trade back to Victoria after the 2005 season, prompting the Saints to part with a first-round selection to secure his services. However, his time at Moorabbin was severely hampered by a broken leg and persistent ankle issues, restricting him to just a single appearance in the red, white and black before he was forced into premature retirement at age 22.
