Bio
Recruited from Wodonga in the Ovens & Murray Football League, Frank Bain arrived at Punt Road during a golden era for the Richmond Football Club. With the Tigers boasting a formidable lineup that contested Grand Finals in 1980 and 1982, the utility found senior opportunities scarce, spending the majority of his four seasons playing reserves football before finally making his debut in 1981. Unable to secure a regular spot in the star-studded Richmond defence, Bain transferred to the Sydney Swans in 1984, joining a club in the midst of a turbulent post-relocation transition. Despite the change of scenery, he added just one more senior game to his tally against Essendon in Round 1 before drifting out of the VFL system, leaving a legacy as a fringe player who struggled to bridge the gap between reserves and senior standard at two vastly different clubs.
