Bio
Born in Shepparton, Frank Bowey was a durable contributor for Geelong during the league's formative years in the early 1900s. He broke into the senior side in 1901 and quickly became a mainstay of the lineup, notably featuring in every match of the 1903 season, including the club's semi-final loss to Collingwood. A defensive-oriented player who rarely ventured forward to score, Bowey was a consistent figure at Corio Oval for four seasons before stepping away from the VFL at the end of 1904. He returned to the Pivotonians' team five years later for a solitary farewell appearance in 1909, capping his career with 44 games and a reputation as a reliable clubman of the Edwardian era.
