Stats
Bio
Recruited from Minyip in the Wimmera region after captaining the formidable St Patrick’s College side in Ballarat, Frank Drum was a towering key position prospect who stood 191cm—a giant stature for the era. Capable of playing as a ruckman or key forward, he was granted a brief trial with Richmond in the middle of the 1950 season, debuting against Hawthorn in Round 8. Despite his imposing physical attributes, his VFL career was fleeting; he played just two consecutive senior matches before turning his back on the city to return to the bush. Drum subsequently forged a decorated career in the Wimmera Football League, anchoring Minyip's ruck division in the 1952 and 1954 premiership sides before later becoming a prominent figure in agricultural politics.
