Bio
Recruited from University Blues in the VAFA, Frank Dunin was a versatile key position player who joined Richmond in 1953 through a swap arrangement involving Peter Schofield. Standing 188cm, he was capable of playing centre half-forward, centre half-back, or in the ruck, though his football journey was interrupted in 1954 when he took a year away to study agricultural science at Dookie College. Upon his return, he established himself as a regular senior player and earned a unique place in history as the leading goalkicker for the VFL/VFA combined team in the 1956 Olympic demonstration match at the MCG. Dunin's promising career was unfortunately cut short at age 24 following a severe knee injury in a pre-season practice match, leading him to trade his boots for a distinguished career as a CSIRO scientist.
