Stats
Bio
Recruited from VFA powerhouse Williamstown, Frank Ellis was a specialist full-back who immediately held down a key defensive post for Richmond upon his arrival in 1910. He proved to be a durable contributor in his debut season, missing only one game for the year and playing a vital role in the Tigers' backline. Despite this consistent form at Punt Road, Ellis crossed to Carlton the following season but failed to break into the senior side at Princes Park. After a hiatus from the league, he resurfaced at Melbourne in 1913 for a brief six-game stint as a deep defender, ultimately finishing his VFL career having never kicked a goal.
