Bio
Recruited from the Gippsland town of Moe, Frank Goode initially cut his teeth in the North Melbourne under-19s before breaking into the senior side as a versatile utility in the early 1960s. While he was capable of playing various roles, he made his biggest impact when he was thrust into the full-forward position to cover for the injured John Dugdale, seizing the opportunity to become the club's leading goalkicker in both 1965 and 1966. A smart and reliable target inside 50, Goode battled injury setbacks that eventually forced a premature retirement after the 1967 season. He maintained a lifelong connection to the game, later serving as an assistant coach at Footscray—where he notably filled in as senior coach for a single match in 1981—and dedicating decades to the North Melbourne Past Players and Officials Association, earning Life Membership for his enduring service to the club.
