Bio
Frank Hanna was a rover recruited from North Melbourne in the VFA who found opportunities scarce in a powerful Carlton lineup. Arriving at Princes Park as the club was building toward its back-to-back premierships, the Ascot Vale local managed just three senior appearances across two seasons before transferring to Hawthorn in the VFA mid-1914 for greater game time. His football career was ultimately curtained by the Great War, where he enlisted in early 1916 and served on the Western Front as a gunner and driver with the 119th Field Artillery Battery.
