Bio
A local product born in the heart of Carlton, Frank Hince began his VFL journey just down the road with Fitzroy, where he was recruited from junior side Fitzroy Crescent. After two seasons with the Maroons, the reliable defender crossed to Princes Park in 1903, arriving just as the legendary Jack Worrall took charge to orchestrate the club's first golden era. Hince became a defensive staple during the Blues' rapid ascent up the ladder, playing regular senior football as the team transformed from cellar dwellers to contenders. However, his timing proved unfortunate; despite being a key contributor during the building phase, he fell out of the senior side during the historic 1906 season, managing just one appearance and ultimately missing out on a place in Carlton’s maiden premiership team.
