Bio
Recruited from Burwood, Frank Hurrey was a school teacher who played a brief cameo for Melbourne in the early 20th century. He made his debut on a half-back flank in the final round of the 1905 season against Carlton, where he was named among the side's best performers despite the team playing with just 17 men for most of the match due to an early broken jaw to teammate Ernest Denton. Hurrey managed only two further senior appearances the following year before his VFL career concluded. He later served as a Second Lieutenant in the First AIF during World War I and spent his post-football life as a headmaster in rural Victoria.
