Bio
Originally from Wonthaggi, Frank Jeeves arrived at Arden Street via the Fitzroy seconds and established himself as a talented but injury-plagued centre half-forward. He demonstrated his quality in 1949 by polling eight Brownlow votes—the third most for the club—despite missing the final six rounds and the finals series due to injury. His resilience was highlighted the following season when he returned from a 14-week ankle layoff just in time to line up at centre half-forward in North Melbourne's historic first VFL Grand Final against Essendon. While he managed a full season in 1951, fitness issues eventually took their toll, causing him to miss the entire 1953 season before he was cleared to VFA club Moorabbin in 1954.
