Bio
Recruited from South Melbourne Juniors, Frank Kenny was a dual-code athlete whose brief VFL career is often noted alongside his connection to Victorian cricket. He was the identical twin brother of first-class cricketer Arthur Kenny, and the pair shared such a striking resemblance that they reportedly confused opposition teams when swapping roles on the cricket pitch. Kenny broke into the St Kilda side late in the 1904 season, making his debut in a heavy loss to Melbourne at the MCG before playing his second and final game the following week against Collingwood. While he was unable to secure a long-term spot in the Saints' lineup, his legacy remains tied to the tragic circumstances of his post-football life, where he died following an assault by a rival race-card vendor outside Flinders Street station in 1930.
