Bio
Recruited from University Blacks, Frank Williams was a fringe wingman whose VFL career was defined by persistence across two clubs. After managing just three games for Carlton, he attempted to cross to Melbourne but was forced to spend a season in the amateurs with Old Paradians when his clearance was initially blocked. Williams eventually joined the Demons via the reserves list, breaking into the senior side for sporadic appearances before the Second World War brought his football journey to a premature end. He enlisted as a RAAF pilot in 1941, serving with distinction until the Japanese surrender, and later returned to the Blues as a financial administrator.
