Bio
Recruited from the Ballarat School of Mines, Frank Pomeroy was a tall follower and utility who used his 188cm frame to compete strongly in the ruck and up forward. He made his debut for Geelong in 1959 and quickly demonstrated an ability to hit the scoreboard, notably kicking 14 goals in just eight games during the 1960 season. Despite his goal-kicking prowess, Pomeroy battled for consistent selection in the senior side but tasted success as the first ruck in the Cats' 1960 reserves premiership team. He transferred to North Melbourne in 1964 for a final season at VFL level, adding 10 games to his career tally, before eventually moving to the country leagues where he became a stalwart player-coach for Bacchus Marsh.
