Bio
Recruited from Mulwala in the New South Wales border region, Frank Seymour’s modest VFL statistics completely belie his status as a bona fide Victorian football legend. After an initial stint with Carlton yielded limited opportunities, the prolific full-forward crossed to Northcote in the VFA, where he became a goal-kicking machine and arguably that club’s greatest ever player. Seymour booted a staggering 880 goals in the Association, topping the century mark three times and spearheading the "Brickfielders" to five premierships during their golden era. He made a brief return to the VFL with Fitzroy in 1935 at age 31, proving he could still find the big sticks with nine goals in five appearances, before returning to Northcote to capture one final flag. Known as a humble, fair sportsman with strong hands and deadly accuracy, Seymour remains an icon of the VFA despite his short tenure at the elite level.
