Bio
Recruited from Elsternwick, Frank Thomas was a tall utility who joined Hawthorn during the club's difficult formative years in the VFL. Standing 188cm, a commanding height for the era, he was well-equipped to play as a follower or in key positions, managing to boot four goals across his 10 senior appearances in the 1927 season. While his time at Glenferrie Oval was restricted to a single winter, Thomas eventually extended his senior career interstate, moving to South Australia where he played for Sturt in the SANFL during the early 1930s. He remained one of the few surviving links to the Hawks' foundational era until his passing in 2001 at the age of 96.
