Teams

Recruited from Chiltern in the Ovens & Murray region, Frank Wells was a solid utility player who arrived at North Melbourne in 1930 after a brief stint with Alphington. Standing 180cm, he possessed the size to play key defensive roles or support the followers, debuting in Round 3 and managing ten games in his first season. His VFL career was interrupted by a three-year hiatus during the height of the Great Depression, but he returned to Arden Street in 1934 to become a regular fixture in the side. Wells played the majority of the 1934 and 1935 seasons, serving as a dependable backman for the Shinboners during a difficult era for the club before concluding his 37-game League career.
