Bio
A product of the seaside suburb of Williamstown, Frank Worroll was a rover who cut his teeth in the VFA before making the step up to the VFL level. Recruited to South Melbourne in 1901, he joined the club during a transitional period as they looked to establish themselves in the fledgling league. Standing out as a nimble and opportunist follower, Worroll played 31 games over three seasons at the Lakeside Oval, managing a respectable 12 goals in an era of low scoring. While his tenure in the top flight was relatively brief, concluding after the 1903 season, he remains a notable example of the talent pathway between the spirited VFA competition and the elite VFL ranks of the early 20th century.
